The Backstory
When I first walked into this home I could take my finger and remove a slick tar off the walls. The previous owner had been a heavy indoor smoker and that tar had built up from years of decay. It was in need of some real TLC!
My contractor, Barry Burell, washed down the walls and ceiling with Pinesole to remove the grime. When we went to paint he sprayed 3 and 4 coats of Kilz primer to properly prep everything. It was a big job, but the end project was totally worth it!
Main Floor
The kitchen was a peninsula-style kitchen and was just worn out. We removed it all and started from scratch.

Basement
The basement had a bunch of walls up and felt choppy. We removed all the walls, added brighter utility lighting, replaced the water heater, and HVAC, and added a new service panel.
I often call this the “Beaverdale Basement finish”. When I have sellers prepping their homes for sale I often recommend painting the walls a semi-gloss (SW Pure White), the floors a porch and floor paint (grey SW), and paint the ceiling with tricorn black (SW). Getting your home market ready is crucial and a dark and unkept “old” basement is never very appealing to buyers.
Fresh paint on the floors, ceiling, and walls freshened this place right up!
